First "Wartime Posters" book presentation

Warsaw, Poland

 

February 29, 2024 will be marked by the first European presentation of the new edition "WARTIME POSTERS” that will take place at the DIM Gallery at the Ukrainian House in Warsaw, Poland.

 

The book “WARTIME POSTERS” aims to highlight the reflections of 18 contemporary Ukrainian artists, graphic designers, illustrators, and a group of artists from France, who created posters during the full-scale russian aggression in Ukraine in 2022-2023.

 

The book was recently published in Ukraine with the circulation of 1000 copies by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Zaporizhzhya City Council and the NGO "Contemporary Art Researchers Union" with the support of the grant program of the Ukrainian cultural foundation.

 

All posters in this publication both reflect and record events, war crimes, and false russian propaganda against Ukraine. The artworks were presented as part of a long-term art project at 19 open-air exhibitions in the frontline city of Zaporizhzhia and on the façade of the Tourist Information Center of Zaporizhzhia amidst the full-scale war in Ukraine.

 

The publication includes artworks by the following authors: Mykola Honcharov, Zakentiy Horobyov, OleksandrGrekhov, Oleg Gryshchenko, Artem Gusev, Dmytro Dziuba, Andriy Yermolenko, Katya Lisova, Anton Logov, Maksym Palenko, Dasha Podoltseva, Oleksiy Revika, Oleksiy Sai, Dmytro Simonov, Mykhailo Skop, NikitaTitov, Mykyta Shylimov, Albina Yaloza and the group art project «Les arts contre la guerre» (Ali Arkadi, Wernher Bouwens, Kateryna Buchatska, Valeria Vertiy, Alzbeta Wolfova, Svitlana Horobenko, RusneHochentaiteta, Julie Giblot-Ducray, Misha Zavalnyi, Sasha Ivanov, Bogdan Korczowski, Nikita Kravtsov, IngaLevi, Oleg Lytovchenko, Nikolas Padlewskiy, Oreli Pazhes, Thomas Pierre, Liliana Saus, Iegor Sekirin, VincentUlme, Katerina Haferman, Margarita Sherstyuk and the others…)

 

The presentation will be followed by a press conference with the participation of the author and compiler of the publication, curator Olena Speranska, artists participating in the project, and the president of the NGO "CARU" and curator Gennadiy Kozub.

 

Also, on this day, the exhibition "UKRAINIAN WARTIME POSTERS" will be opened with the participation of the authors whose graphic works are included in the printed edition.

 

UKRAINIAN WARTIME POSTERS” art exhibition was already presented three times in the USA: at the Blue Gallery, New York, New York, September, 2022; The Ent Center for The Arts, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Colorado, November 2022; The Museum of Tolerance, Los Angeles, California, December 2022. In February 2023 the art project was presented in 571 Oxford Road Gallery, Reading, Great Britain. In March 2023, the project was partially presented at Kesselhaus, Berlin as part of the opening program of the Ukrainian Institute office in Germany and in May 2023 at the TheaterTreffen, Berlin, Germany.
